Look out for: Pompom weed.
November/December is the time when Pompom weed propagates. This is the time to control it from taking over as an invasive here in the Waterberg. There is an excellent paper written by The Agricultural Research Council on how to control it:
https://www.arc.agric.za/arc-ppri/Pages/Pompom%20weed/Management-and-control-.aspx.
As the article says it can either be removed manually (with some risk!) or using selected chemicals. This is an opportunity to get groups of schoolchildren, farm labourers or communities actively involved in protecting our important biosphere.
